Sir Henry Parkes

Sir Henry Parkes, born on May 27, 1815, in Stoneleigh, England, was a well-known Australian statesman and politician. He is often referred to as the "Father of Federation" due to his instrumental role in driving the federation of the Australian colonies. Parkes served five terms as Premier of New South Wales and played a key role in drafting the Australian Constitution. He passed away on April 27, 1896, leaving behind a significant political legacy.

Peter Allen

Peter Allen, born on February 10, 1944, in Tenterfield, is a renowned Australian singer-songwriter and entertainer. He achieved great success both in Australia and internationally with his pop songs and flamboyant stage persona. Allen's popular hits include "I Go to Rio," "Tenterfield Saddler," and "I Still Call Australia Home." Banjo Paterson

Sir Stuart Donaldson

Sir Stuart Alexander Donaldson was the first Premier of New South Wales and the first Australian colonial politician born in Australia. Born on December 16, 1812, in London, England, he migrated with his family to New South Wales in 1825. In 1856, Donaldson won the seat of Sydney City in the newly established Legislative Assembly and became the Premier of New South Wales. His term lasted from 1856 to 1857. Donaldson made significant contributions to the formation of responsible government in Australia. He passed away on January 11, 1867.

Olivia Newton-John, born on September 26, 1948, in Cambridge, England, is a globally recognized Australian-British singer, actress, and activist. While not originally from the Tenterfield Region, Newton-John grew up in Australia and spent her formative years in Melbourne. She shot to fame in the 1970s with chart-topping hits like "Physical" and starring roles in movies such as "Grease." Newton-John's versatile career has garnered four Grammy Awards and numerous other accolades. She remains a treasured icon in the entertainment industry.

Ben Chifley

Joseph Benedict Chifley, widely known as Ben Chifley, born on September 22, 1885, in Bathurst, New South Wales, was the 16th Prime Minister of Australia. Chifley served as the leader of the Australian Labor Party from 1945 until his untimely death in 1951. His political career was dedicated to advancing social reforms and post-war reconstruction. Chifley played a vital role in the establishment of important institutions like the United Nations and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. He was highly respected for his integrity and commitment to improving the lives of ordinary Australians.
